EYFS
Friday 20th May
Today we had another Maths workshop and thankfully we were able to host it in our classroom! It was so nice for grown ups to see exactly how we teach and learn in EYFS. Our objective for this week was 'teen numbers'- knowing its composition and recognising the pattern of the number system. We were able to tell our grown ups that each teen number has a 10 inside and then some extra ones. We showed them all of our Maths activities and had such a good time doing them with our grown ups!
Monday 9th May
Today, EYFS had a special delivery! We received 10 chick eggs and it's our job to look after them for the next two weeks. We have been very lucky to watch 3 of them hatch in front of our very own eyes! We will be learning about the life cycle of a chick and how to look after them. Here we are holding our new class mates...
Monday 21st March - Reading Workshop
On Monday, we welcomed parents into school to take part in a 'Reading Workshop' to see how we teach the children in Reception to read. This was a 'word reading' lesson where the children were using their phonics to decode two-syllable words. The children and parents thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and I think were surprised at how much they children could do independently!
Friday 8th October
On Friday, we had a visit from the Dental Nurse! She taught us all about how brush our teeth and for how long. Did you know you have to brush in circular motions to get rid of the plaque on your teeth? That's invisible dirt that we have to brush off. We sorted foods into what would make our teeth happy and sad and even had a go at brushing a big set of teeth! The Dental Nurse couldn't get over how well we sat and listened and how much we already knew about brushing our teeth and healthy eating!
